The enlarged anti-predator fence is already in operation.

We now have over 60 hectares of protected meadows, more than twice the previous area.
This year, our colleagues from the Dubelt Nature Society are monitoring the breeding success in this site and have shared valuable information about the bird population in the area.
In the Gródek region, they have found 92 nests:

  • lapwing 35,
  • redshank 30,
  • black-tailed godwit 24,
  • common snipe 2,
  • great snipe 1.

Within the "old" fence, we have 69 active nests without any losses. Currently, redshanks and lapwings are hatching.
Within the "new" fence, a pair of cranes has established their nest, which could pose a threat to the Charadriiformes' breeding. Although we experienced a loss of 6 nests in the early incubation stage, new nests have emerged near the original ones, indicating that the same pairs are attempting to breed again.
The pictures show redshank chicks, @Paweł Bialomyzy searching for nests.
In our upcoming posts, we will showcase our new fence, as we have made some improvements to the entire structure. We havesomething to be proud of .
