We still encounter negative temperatures at night and snow on the way to work but.... the birds are coming back from migration.
White storks have already occupied their nests.
In our bird area in the “Gródek” refuge we already have lapwings, ruffs, redshanks and even black-tailed godwits — on Thursday we saw the first two pairs there!!!
In the video, the black-tailed godwits are wading in the water and can be seen just above the fence bar.
We closed the dam gates on the drainage ditches in February. Despite the fact that there has been no rainfall in Podlasie for over a month, we “hold” water on our plots thanks to small retention.
