Meet our new ambassador!
"I am a biologist, a field guide in the Biebrza National Park, a member of the Biebrza Society and the Association of Polish Nature Photographers. During my time on the Arabian Peninsula, I was also actively involved for several years in the work of the Emirates Natural History Group, broadening both my knowledge and my perspective through international experience. I have made my home in Zajki, where I live, work and actively support efforts to protect local ecosystems. At my home by the River Narew, I organize festivals and workshops in photography and ornithology, combining a scientific approach with field practice and a passion for wildlife photography. As a photographer, I most often turn my lens towards birds – an extraordinarily diverse and fascinating group, but also one that is particularly vulnerable to human activity. My everyday paths mainly lead me through the Biebrza and Narew valleys, but birds also take me all over the world. Wherever I am and wherever I photograph, I always try to make my images more than mere pictures – I want them to be a call to be attentive to and respectful of nature. For me, education is one of the most valuable resources and a key tool in environmental protection. I believe that building environmental awareness and sensitivity towards nature is the foundation for real change in how we treat our planet. This is one of the reasons why I decided, without hesitation, to join the nationwide Eurasian curlew conservation project. Curlews are especially close to my heart – during their spring and autumn migrations, they stop in the meadows just beyond my fence. I cannot imagine my walks without their presence and their distinctive, flute-like, ringing “cur-lee”, which has become a permanent part of my everyday landscape. My secret dream is that they will stay in Zajki longer and raise their young here. Through active conservation and education, we can make a real difference for one of Europe’s rarest birds! I believe my dream will come true."
