On 21 April 2026, as part of World Curlew Day celebrations, we officially unveiled a mural by Wojciech Rokosz. The artwork shows an adult bird with a chick and is located on Kościuszki Street in Goniądz. The mural was very warmly received by the local community and will also be enjoyed by tourists, as the Green Velo cycling route runs right next to it.
Among those attending the ceremony were representatives of the Municipal Office in Goniądz, led by Mayor Grzegorz Dudkiewicz, Biebrza National Parkwith its director Artur Wiatr; the Nadbiebrzańskie Wzgórza Housing Cooperative with its president Krzysztof Pieńkowski; and district manager Piotr Gołembiewski from the Knyszyn Forest District. Local residents and tourists, as well as representatives of municipal institutions and organizations active in the area, also attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The gathering ended with coffee, tea and sweet refreshments at a nearby restaurant.
