We are preparing our pastures to welcome guests

12 luty 2016

pastwiskaIt’s still winter, February, but we are already preparing our pastures to welcome grazing cows. In the vicinity of Trześcianki 60 hectares of meadows along the river Narew are used for grazing during the seazon. At the moment, repairs of access roads are underway to make it possible for the cows to arrive in a truck directly to the meadows - this is important because ca. 50 individuals will graze in this place.

Currently a part of the meadows is under water - spring floodsare characteristic for meadows spreading be the Narew River–the pasture is used by a couple of whooper swans. In the field, near the villages of Kaczały and Koźliki, you can see our educational boards, and on the meadow at Ancutywe have built a sheltered observation platform near a lekking site of great snipes. These activities are carried out within the framework of the project “Active protection of the great snipe in the Upper Narew River Valley Natura 2000 site”
